What this is
To read and keep. Study rather than supply — it explains work rather than doing any.
The practice
What this tradition does with an object like this — how it is used, not a promise about what follows.
How it is used
- 1Read before it is used. That is the whole instruction.
Working it properly
The craft under the instructions — direction, count and order. This is the part that is normally only said across a counter.
- Read to the end of the working before the first step of it. That is the whole instruction and it is the one most often skipped.
- Books on this shelf disagree with each other, which is not a fault — practice is regional. Where two differ, the tradition is to follow the house you learned in.
What people get wrong
- Working from a page you have not read to the end of.
